Here’s a really good article I found that tells you how to create a profit-pulling resource box. I’ve been using this article as reference when I need to use a resource box. I thought it might be something you could use too.

Enjoy!

How you can Create A Profit-Pulling Resource Box and Reap the Rewards!

By Diane Thomas

Writing articles is one of the fastest ways to build traffic to your website. Not only that, they are great marketing tools and instant recognition vehicles on the Net.

One of the most overlooked parts of the article is the resource box – and it is almost as important as the article itself.

What is a Resource Box? It”s an information box at the end of your article. When your article is read, the reader will see your name and website link – It’s FREE advertising. Not only that but when your article is published on other websites, your resource box that contains your website URL will increase your link popularity in the search engines. This is called back-end linking.

The resource box is small (about 4-6 lines) so creating one can be tricky. Here are the key elements your Resource Box should contain:

1. Your Name: The first line of your resource box should be a short sentence that gives your name and tells what you do on the Internet. One of the perks of writing articles is that they are a powerful tool that will brand your name and establish your reputation as an expert.

2. Your Website URL: Listing your website URL will bring visitors to your website – and even better, whenever your article is published on another website with a live link, your link- popularity with the major Search Engines will be boosted.

3. Your Newsletter Subscription Address: Getting an interested visitor to visit your website is great, but capturing their email address can assist in beginning the confidence/trust process. Remember you must show the average person your message seven times before they will buy your product. Now you have the opportunity.

When listing your newsletter, do not use an email address. Include the URL for your newsletter subscription address.

4. You have a couple of options here:

List Something Free – A viral eBook or report, an eCourse. By offering a free item you’ll greatly increase the chances of a reader clicking through to your website. You also have the opportunity for sales thru your free offering.

Sales Pitch/Call To Action – 1 to 3 sentences describing what makes you and your product offering unique – followed by a call to action. Make sure your product is relevant to the article.

Tips and Techniques

If your pitching an affiliate product in step 4, do not use your affiliate link. You can use a redirect page, or better yet write a review or pre-sell page on your site and send readers there.

Doing this will put them on your site, provide an extra opportunity to show your “expertise” and allow you to get them excited about the product before going to the product site.

The resource box is not a place for hype.

If your promoting a product use benefits not features.

Keep it professional. Use spell check and verify your URL’s are correct. There is nothing less professional than misspelled words, and if your URL is wrong you have just lost a possible sale.

Do not list every website you own in you resource box. Use only one that is related to the topic of your article.

Do not list all of your accomplishments. Listing that your a Doctor, Lawyer and Indian Chief sounds like hype and no one really cares. Keep it brief and use accomplishments that are related to the article.

Writing a resource box is almost an art form. You have a lot to say in very little space. So put some thought into it and keep in mind that after writing a great article, the resource box is the reward for your gift. Use it well.

To Your Success!

Hi Everyone,

This is something that I’ve been meaning to share with you since right before Christmas, but I’ve been so busy learning about traffic, video marketing, etc., that I kept forgetting to post about this very interesting eBook..

I purchased “Emergency Cash Generators” by James Jones at the beginning of November 2008. He has written an amazing eBook on approximately 100 different ways you can make extra money online and offline. James Jones actually comes up with ideas for making emergency cash and then tests them out himself to make sure they are viable ways to make fast cash.

I personally tried one of his ideas and actually made a little money. I needed some extra cash for Christmas so I tried #72 in James Jones‘ eBook, which is “Letters from Santa”. My grandson had just started back at daycare right before Christmas, so I started a little late with this idea. I actually made $70.00! I donated $1.00 per letter to the daycare, so I ended up with $60.00 cash – fast! I was very excited that this worked for me, and I had meant to post about it right away and many times since. Granted this idea has been around for a while, but I would never had thought about it on my own with being so busy at the time. Plus I also liked the idea of donating some money to the daycare.

Some of the ideas in “Emergency Cash Generators” can actually provide you with a part-time income, and some can even provide you with a full-time income. A couple of the ideas are a little far-fetched, but for the most part James Jones‘ provides some very creative and lucrative ways to make fast cash.

Also, if you have a teenager there are lots of great ideas in “Emergency Cash Generator” that teens can do make some quick cash.

I personally prefer the ideas to make money online as opposed to offline. It’s easier for me since my grandson only goes to daycare twice a week. Of course you can become an affiliate and sell “Emergency Cash Generators” for a commission, plus there are many other creative ideas in the eBook for making money online.

Emergency Cash Generators is something I would definitely recommend! It worked for me, and I’ve only tried one idea so far!

If you’re interested in making some fast cash here is the link to get the eBook: Emergency Cash Generators

Please let me know which ideas you try and which ones work best for you.

Take care,

Lori James

Hi Everyone,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Of course last week’s ISP problem put me behind, but I’ve also been very busy catching up and working on a few other things to share with you.

I had been trying for the last few weeks to figure out how to include my “live url” with my YouTube videos. It was getting a little nerve-wracking! So last night while I was speaking on the phone with another one of Alex Jeffreys students, John Bullard, I asked if he knew how to add a “live url” to a YouTube video, and he did! Yeah! I could FINALLY include my site’s url!

Here is how to include your site’s “live url” with your YouTube video:

- Sign in to Your YouTube account.

- Place the cursor on top of your user name and you will see choices in the drop down box.

- Click on “My Videos“. You will see a list of your videos.

- Click on the title of the video that you want to add your site’s url to. This will pull up your video along with the info you had already put in about your video.

- Under where you see your YouTube url and the embed code you’ll see “Edit Video“.

- Click on “Edit Video“. This will pull up your Title, Description, Tags, etc. which you previously filled in.

- Go to the very first line of the description and add your site’s url (for example: http://www.everythinghomebiz.com).

- Go to the second line and put your description. Don’t skip a line, just make sure your url is on the first line by itself with your description starting directly under the url on the 2nd line.

- Go to the bottom of the page and click on “Submit changes”.

Now your site’s “live url” will be included with your YouTube video!

Wow, I’m so happy John knew how to do that! Be sure to visit John Bullard’s blog and check it out!

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

What a week! It all started on Wednesday the 21st, and lasted until Saturday the 24th. I had no service Wednesday for a lot of the day, then back on, then off again Thursday starting early aafternoon, then on again Friday morning, then off again Friday all afternoon, then on again for a few hours, then off again Friday night. Since Saturday afternoon things seem to be fine (I hope!). It was really crazy though! Apparently there was construction going on in the area somewhere and they kept hitting wires! Hopefully they are finished and not just off for the weekend! (a scary thought)

Anyway, I accomplished a few things during that time, but not much until last night. I worked on my 4th video using Windows Movie Maker, and finally put it up last night!

So, now I REALLY have to step it up! It’s hard to lose all that time online, and very frustrating especially when you are literally right in the middle of doing something at the time.

It’s over for now, so I’d better get back to work!

I just voted on the poll about Alex Jeffreys over at Gary Simpsons Blog. I’m definitely a “Happy Pappy” and not a “Hater Tater”! I cannot even imagine that anyone could NOT like Alex Jeffreys. Surely it wasn’t a student who voted “Hater Tater”?! Maybe they are just jealous that they aren’t one of “US” (the F500)!

If you haven’t voted yet please visit Gary’s Blog right away and vote! Here’s the link: We Love Alex

Talk to you soon,

Hi Everyone,

I haven’t posted in a couple of days because I was busy making my first 2 videos, now I am working on the tons of other things I’ve neglected in the past week!

I REALLY like making videos! Am I surprised? Yes, VERY surprised! I’ve never liked public speaking, I’m picky about pictures of myself, I don’t like the way my voice sounds on recordings, etc.. But, oh well! Apparently none of that is going to stop me now… I’m becoming a video addict!

If it hadn’t been for listening to Maria Andros, (aka the Video Marketing Queen) speak I would have kept putting off making videos indefinitely. I can honestly say that she is the reason I became so involved with getting started on video marketing. So, thanks Maria!

I have to admit it’s a bit hard trying to “talk” to a camera. I did over 50 re-takes for my first video! The second video was only 10 re-takes. I’m a little nervous in both videos, but there was a big improvement from the first video to the second. So the way I figure it, I can only get better at it, not worse! (My very first take was sooo awful!)

I will be doing a 3rd video today. One of my friends is going to film the video, so it will feel like I’m talking to her instead of a camera! I’m interested to see how much of a difference that will make.

Video Marketing is such an awesome way to get your name out there!

I’ll put my new video up tonight. In the meantime, if you’d like to check out the 2 videos I have up on YouTube here is my user name: lorijames1120.

Hi Everyone,

I downloaded Social Media Daily a while back, and finally had a chance to read over all of the information last night. Michele McPhearson has done a great job of putting together a daily social media plan designed to get traffic to your site.
She also gives a lot of great advice!

I am going to start implementing her daily checklist. This is something that will be very helpful to all of us!
