Making money on the internet can be made very simple for anyone.

Making money as an internet marketer boils down to this: Making product sales to people to whom you sent an email.

Why are so many people failing with their internet businesses and their websites?

There are several reasons for this and all of them are simple marketing methods every online business person should be doing.

One major reason for many online businesses failing is the manner in which the sites are being designed. Amateur copywriters and newbies don’t achieve very good conversions with the traffic that is hitting their sites. These site owners are attempting to elicit direct sales from product recommendations, banners displayed, and reviews.

First of all, the banners are taking up precious space on your web page that could be put to better use. Besides, most people have become banner-blind by now.

Secondly, by changing the ads on your sites every so often you can fight this banner blindness. You can also test to see what is getting more clicks or converting better.

Another reason for a lot of failed websites is the lack of a name capture mechanism used for list building purposes. If your sites are getting traffic but people are banner blind, don’t you think that you should be building your list? instead you are just hoping to make sales from the same old banner?

If you use the traffic to your sites to build your list and make sales at the same time, you can and will make money from those sites.  You can do both, but your highest converting offers won’t come from first-time visitors who come to your site and see some banners.

E-mails that you send to the subscriber list that you built will result in your highest traffic conversions. The prospects on your list who take your product emails and product recommendations seriously will trust you. They are more likely to buy from your recommendation than a first-time visitor whose trust you haven’t earned yet.

I have seen this time and time again when some people on marketing forums tell me that their product isn’t selling for them and many of them had yet to make one sale on it.

I would take a look at their sale spage and see that it’s not that good then ask them how they’re promoting their product and they’ll invariably tell me that they use traffic exchanges and forum links to promote their sites.

So what I tell these people to do is create a very simple squeeze page an newsletter with 7-8 emails in them emphasizing the value of getting their product, and the sales always start coming in once they divert their attention from making direct sales to just building their list.

If you’re not building a list, that is one of the biggest internet marketing mistakes you could be making and I suggest that you change your focus a little to see how powerful this change in attitude will be for you.

Once you see how well this works, you should strive to automate your list build so you can own your very own automated profits system.

Daniel Mcgonagle’s automated list building system generates 15-20 optins a day from just 3 of his websites

Hi Everyone,

I’ve just published my first Hub on HubPages! The title of my Hub is “Build A Relationship With Your Subscribers”.

It took me quite a while to put it together since I was really anxious about it. I am also anxious about my Hub being read, did I do a good job on it, is it helpful, and on and on….

Your honest opinion on my first Hub would be very much appreciated! Click Here to view my Hub.

Thanks,

Lori James

Hi Everyone,

I have heard the statement “The Money is in the List” countless times over the past year. So, is it true? Is the money REALLY in “the list”? The answer is YES! Your list is where the money is!

Don’t overlook building your list, this is a BIG mistake! I don’t have a list. Why did I overlook building a list? I think it was because I really wasn’t sure HOW to go about building a list, so it seemed a little scary. Also, I have read conflicting information, such as “make money without having a list”, etc.. I have often thought of building a list, but it didn’t seem like it mattered much one way or the other. I didn’t realize the importance and the value of building a list for my business. I can’t believe how much time I’ve lost because I don’t have a list!

Well, now I realize the importance of building a list if I want to have a successful business. As far as being afraid of building a list, what the heck is there to be afraid of ? (I mean, really, it’s a LIST, how scary could it possibly be?!) If I mess it up I can just try again, right?

Most importantly, I now know I need to “take action” and start building my list right away, so that my business can grow!

So, once again….”The Money IS in the list!”

Happy List Building,

Lori James
